Hopkinton Historical Society's
Tomorrow's Masterpieces Annual
Art Show & Sale
General Guidelines
Artwork
- If you are new to our art show or your work has not been exhibited in the show in recent years, you need to submit examples (actual work or slides) to be juried. Contact Hopkinton Historical Society to make arrangements.
- All art exhibited must be for sale.
- NHAS collects 35% commission on all work sold during or as a direct result of the show. Artists will be paid at the conclusion of the art show.
- Entries must be original and must have been created within the past three years. The work must not be a reproduction (i.e., gicléeprint), nor should reproductions of one-of-a-kind art be available elsewhere for sale. Photographs and prints must be hand-printed by, or with supervision of, the artist.
- Works must not have been shown previously at the Tomorrow’s Masterpieces Art Show.
- Entries must be completely ready for display (for hanging wall art, properly framed using archivally sound materials, with hanging wire).
- Unframed artwork (which must also meet the hand-made criteria above) may be sold at the art show from a display box.
Display
- Exhibit space is limited. We attempt to show two works per artist. This, however, always depends on the size and kind of artwork submitted and the number of artists participating in the show.
- Art may be rotated or replaced during the duration of the show, as needed or desired. As art sells, we may replace them with other work be the same artist (if available), or other artwork.
- Hopkinton Historical Society has the option, upon viewing the actual artwork, of removing from the exhibition any works found inappropriate for the show.
- It is the responsibility of the participating artist to insure any work while it is on exhibit. Please note that the Long Building is equipped with a security system and Society staff will supervise the exhibit during open hours.
