Volunteer Opportunities

Job Title: Assistant for the Museum Cataloging Project

Time Commitment: 2-hour increments on a regular scheduled basis

NHAS is currently cataloging its museum objects and entering this information into its electronic database. To date, approximately 500 of the 6000 objects have been catalogued. All training is provided. Help the community by helping to preserve its past.

This is a perfect ‘mother’s hours’ opportunity!

Duties: create file folders on objects, research and photocopy historical information on each object, accurately measure objects, determine whether objects need to be renumbered according to museum standards, assess object’s condition, etc. Once volunteers are comfortable with these tasks, they can continue training to learn to renumber the objects using acid-free pens or sewn in labels.

Interested persons should contact NHAS at 746-3825 or nhas@tds.net

Volunteers are always needed for special events, exhibit preparation, or general help. Your help is greatly appreciated on either a regular basis or as needed.

NHAS offers many opportunities to support our organization in a variety of ways.
