Job Title: Assistant for the Museum Cataloging Project
Time Commitment: 2-hour increments on a regular scheduled basis
NHAS is currently cataloging its museum objects and entering this information into its electronic database. To date, approximately 500 of the 6000 objects have been catalogued. All training is provided. Help the community by helping to preserve its past.
This is a perfect ‘mother’s hours’ opportunity!
Duties: create file folders on objects, research and photocopy historical information on each object, accurately measure objects, determine whether objects need to be renumbered according to museum standards, assess object’s condition, etc. Once volunteers are comfortable with these tasks, they can continue training to learn to renumber the objects using acid-free pens or sewn in labels.

Volunteers are always needed for special events, exhibit preparation, or general help. Your help is greatly appreciated on either a regular basis or as needed.
NHAS offers many opportunities to support our organization in a variety of ways.
The Past Perfect cataloging project needs people to enter cataloging information into our electronic database. Training is provided.
We are cataloging our photo collection and need help identifying and sorting photographs.
The Historical Committee does genealogical research and receives requests for genealogical and historical information on a regular basis. Contact us if you have an interest in this area, training is provided.
Volunteers are especially needed to work on specific special events, exhibits, and programs.
Volunteers are needed to help maintain our gardens by weeding, raking, etc.
